What are beaded weft extensions
Beaded weft extensions have been a staple in the world of hair extensions for quite some time, proving to be a reliable method. The process involves sectioning 1/4” portions of hair and securing a silicone-lined aluminum bead around the head in a u-shape. Once the beads are in place, the extension hair is clipped to the natural hair, aligning with the beaded row, and sewn to the beaded foundation using a needle and thread.
Once the extensions are sewn in, they remain securely in place for approximately 6-8 weeks. During this period, the natural hair continues to grow, causing the extensions to move further from the scalp alongside the natural hair.
After the 6-8 week period, clients return to the salon for maintenance. The beads are unclamped, and the wefts are gently removed. Any necessary maintenance for the natural hair, such as coloring or cutting, is performed at this time before re-installing the extensions.
